tom and lynette, though not my favourite couple of DH, deliver some of the best scenes in the show. in todays epi, tom decides to do a lil nip/tuck on his face, and the following is why lynette is against it ;)

She says if he's unsatisfied with his looks, she'll be unsatisfied with hers someday. He says no, but she says he'll look young and wonder how she got so old, and they'll look like they don't belong together anymore. He tells her he's just wanting to get rid of a few wrinkles. She tells him she doesn't see his wrinkles; she sees their whole life. She moves closer and points to each wrinkle and tells him the story behind each wrinkle: "This is you wondering how you'll provide for the family. This is Penny breaking her arm. This is my cancer. These are the millions of laughs that got us through." She says it's a map of their marriage.

a stunning performance demands that you stare captivated on youtube even when your original intent was to let it play in the background for fear of missing one single spectacular moment. it doesnt disappoint. & then you realise with a pang that to witness such a live first-hand is impossible.
