the essence to every successful idol drama not only lies in the pretty faces. it is to have a male protagonist who appears unlikely to offer the female protagonist tiniest bit of affection or care due to some childhood sob story (i.e lack of a mother's love). and then to eventually fall for the female protagonist who will also undoubtedly always secretly be in love with his angst and bitterness. with the latter being completely unsuspecting and dense, she will soon be overwhelmed with his ass-turns-perfectboyfriend gestures. from thoughtful sweet gestures to great self-sacrifies, you name it, the scriptwriters got it. in addition, while the female protagonist is dealing with her one-sided crush (as it appears), there must be a perfect gentleman by her side to help her appear less pathetic. he, who is so consumed with admiration for her such that he will eventually come to terms with losing her and giving her his blessings because the ass is actually a really nice guy at the end.
