remember the story of the chopsticks that delivered the message 'united we stand and divided we fall'? for a reason self-explanatory, this has been lingering in my thoughts for these few weeks.

its worrying, personally for me, whose foremost concern is the stability of our little island. any (drastic) change in the parliament is bound to create waves that is possibly unpredicted and unprecendented. furthermore, what i believe is challenging our stability is a bunch of political ideas that has its foundations in anti-pap sentiments.

not a political avid fan, but the massive slew of reports via mass media has garnered me a small but hopfully nontheless useful insight of what is going on that has enabled me to come to my own conclusion and decision in whose box im putting a cross in.

to me, there must be something wrong if a political party is unable to give a clear constuctive plan and the implications on how might they improve what they considered unsatisfactory at present. unpopular policies will always exist simply because noone cannot please everyone at the same time. if u can, something is wrong, over promising and not delivering may be the result. sure u can lambast someone over a mistake. ONLY if you can tell me a better alternative and what will be sacrified to deliver that result.

even if you do. words are not cheap, they are FREE. i am not compromising on my 5 years of stability for your test-drive. pillion riders, i hear, are always the first to die. pap's hard-fisted tactics against the opp does make them appear to be bullies, and they may play a little dirty. but its politics, you dont get anywhere playing nice. in any games, given a chance, who would not crush any potential opponents? if i am the best at this game, i would own this game.

a proven track-record (a record-breaking record) has proven that we have a solid leadership and sound policies in place that has enable us, a land of no resources to have prospered and come thus far. the majority of the singaporeans have access to world-class health care, roofs over our heads, good education system for all and whatever some pple are taking for granted. sure, they come at a price, but noone owes u a living, and if u are discontented in a 4 room flat, go pray you strike toto, govt even gives u hope, u see? obviously as compared to countries with vast resources and land, our quality of life is significantly reduced and come at a higher price. its not by choice which country we are born into. if not i might choose japan and live happily altho in constant fear of earthquakes.

dun vote out of sympathy or plain unhappiness with unpopular policies. ponder over who can deliver results. a strong and credible leadership can groom worthy leaders for our future. not unhappy, angsty people who fail to credit where credit is due.
